So yes my lovely lovely boyfriend brought me on a second trip in 6months hehe sweetness. Left on 12th May; the day right after when my thesis was due.
Day 1 - 12th May
We reached Changi Airport just on time...went through the online check-in counter, straight through the customs, changed some cash and went right into our gates ;-) Sat down for not more than 15minutes and they called for our row to be boarded; we were seated near the back of the plane. The plane was actually rather empty; sadly for them. They served us food shortly after and I had chicken rice. It was averagely yummy, as per SQ standard.

The flight lasted about 2 hours and we were in Bali! (obviously I slept through majority of the flight) Touched down at about 7pm and the first thing that had to happen was boyfriend's torn luggage. Immediately went over to the counter to get it sorted out and we were stuck there for 1hr =S
Finally made it out and found our airport transfer dude with my nametag. The jam in Bali is so so so bad (which Rory's sister mentioned when she was there about 2 weeks back) and by the time we reached the hotel it was close to 10pm when we were due to meet our tour guide at 830pm to plan our next days' itinerary. Sorry Edi! So we immediately dumped our luggage and got our plans sorted out =] Then we retreated to our suite. FEAST YOUR EYES.
Grandness max. Such a beautiful room/suite!! Yes that is our own personal swimming pool =p Had a nice hot bathe before going to bed =]
Day 2 - 13th May
Woke up to a bad bad bad morning =[ My eyes and lips were freaking swollen!!! I looked into the mirror and freaked myself out so bad I cried haha. I think I was just damn scared cause it has never happened before. Thank god my boyfriend is pretty pro and figured it was probably a dust allergy to dirty pillow =[ So I took a pill of zyrtec and we headed to the reception to complain about the pillow and have it checked and changed. Then headed for breakfast before getting changed and meeting Edi to start off our adventure for the day (yes vain me still wore my contacts with shades on the whole day)
First stop was Ubud where we walked around a bit, visited royal places and quickly headed to lunch at Dirty Duck which was once again a Denise recommended place.
Their signature dish was the crispy duck so we ordered one of that together with another grilled duck. They were both so yummy! But I preferred the grilled one more cause of the tender juicy meat, boyfriend on the otherhand was all in for the dry crispy duck.
After lunch, we headed further South to visit the famous beautiful Tanah Lot temple. However, we made two stops prior our final destination. First stop was a coffee place where they served us all the different types of coffee and tea they sold there (in cute tiny cups)
Boyfriend also ordered himself a cup of Kopi Luwat; for those who havent heard of it (like ehem boyfriend) it is amongst the most expensive coffee in the world. Origin; it is made from the faeces of a civit-like animal called a Paradoxurus. Dont worry that didnt come off the top of my head I googled it, I usually just call it "from the poo poo of a cat" haha. Bought a powder packet back for daddy as well which bf still thinks its not worth the amout I paid =p

The next stop made was a royal temple; another tourist attraction with an entry fee but all we did was walk around on the outside parts and took photos since we were relatively in a rush and it was drizzling by then.
After another short drive we arrived at the famous beautiful cliff temple; Tanah Lot temple!! Wheeee =]
A couple of nice scenic pictures; rest are up on facebook as per usual
After walking along the scenic path we walked thorugh the market street of the area and I bought myself a Polo Ralph Lauren shirt. Just couldnt resist the cheap pices =p haha
This concluded our place visiting of the day as we decided to make this day short in preparation of an early day ahead. Hence we got back to our room to put our stuff down (and say hello to 2 visitors on our porch) before having our hotel dinner.
Hello kitties!
The hotel dinner was unfortunately not very nice despite the relatively ok looking pictures =[
Oh yes and I forgot to mention that this little kitty kept asking for food and it even jumped onto my lab! Before the waiter picked it and chased it out haha. Bf was like asking me "Does it like you?" haha I guess so.
Then we got back, had a nice long bath before heading to bed at about 8pm. Boyfriend had troubles falling asleep (I of course as usual did not especially since the medicine I took caused drowsiness as well) He woke me up quite a few times but I fell right back asleep instantly haha so all was good.
Day 3 - 14th May
The day essentially starts at 1230am ;-) Hehe yes you got that right, just after midnight. The alarm rang and I was rather worried the hiking had to be cancelled due to the raining so I gave Edi a call and it seemed he was just leaving his place and said that it wasn't raining there so we were good to go. I got up to get dressed and pack and bf woke up erm quite a while later haha to get ready haha. My eye was feeling a slight bit better so I just wore contacts, didnt really want to go hiking with specs on anyway. So I dressed in a sports top and pants (bf told me it would be really warm when hiking and even encouraged me to wear shorts but I was afraid of getting scraped as well as mosquito bites and thank god I decided to wear pants - to be found out why later on) So Edi arrived at 130am to pick us and we embarked on our ~2hour journey to the mountain. Obviously it was nap time throughout until we reached the mountain and the road because super rough with a lot of potholes so we got waken up by the shakes.
It was pitch black when we arrived and it was a bit cold so no pictures. They told us that we definitely needed jackets and hence offered some on rent at an exorbitant price. Sigh. And so we embarked on the 2hour hike up the mountain with a promised beautiful sunset and homey breakfast of cooked bananas and eggs. For the first 20minutes, it was essentially a walk/hike up the mountain and I was getting just a bit tired but it was alright and then came the high rocks where it was more of mountain climbing than mountain hiking =S And it was especially hard for someone with short legs dont laugh =p
By the time we were reaching the peak I was dying and I kept slipping haha so I had to hold the guide's hand for the rest of the trip up. When we reached the top, we were still very early so we sat around to wait for sunset. Oh yes it did not help that it had been drizzling the whole time so we were freezing at the top. What was best was that the first stop we were at did not have fire so we had to hike to a second stop which still did not have fire before hiking to a third and final hut =S And yes there was like over 30 of us squeezing in one small hut and they were cooking there so it was all smokey and freezing cold =[ The couple beside us huddled up against us and said we should stick near so there is more heat haha so cute. Anyway our guide finally managed to cook our banana and egg so we got breakfast. It was quite yummy and I probably would have enjoyed it more if I wasnt half freezing to death. And yes obviously there was no sunrise due to the dark clouds =S Ok some pictures anyway:

Oh and did I mention I had a blister and it was killing me =S I seriously thought we were going to get a car ride down but ehem unfortunately no! We had to hike back down. I asked the guide how long the hike was going to take and he said 1hr and then mentioned that it essentially the same route we took to get up...so how can that be 1hr =S He lied! haha anyway its all fine since he had to hold my hand the entire journey which also meant taking my weight haha. I slipped pretty badly once so thank god he was holding my hand haha we had a big laugh over it saying he saved my life and how I could have died etc haha. Drama much. We managed a few pictures on the way down as well. But not too fantastic cause of the clouds

I guess it was a slightly different route taken in the end so towards the half way point the roads were more of less straight; walkable. We were exhausted when we reached the bottom; probably never happier seeing Edi haha. And obviously we slept through our journey back once again.
By the time we reached our hotel it was already about noon so we cooked the instant noodles we bought the day before taking an afternoon nap (everytime eat and sleep sure grow fat fat haha) Our hotel massage was due at 4pm so we woke up and went for it. Nice and relaxing ;-)
Since the weather wasnt too good and it would be too troublesome for Edi to come fetch us we decided to a go to a recommended nearby restaurant for dinner =]
The food was yummy!! We had a pot of rice which had anchovy/white fish on top, a bowl of ayam soto (with beehoon inside), a plate of kailan and the fish!! The gurame was really good! The sambal was essential to the taste and dipping the fish into the hot sauce...spicy but delicious and I couldnt stop putting more and more sambal even when my mouth was burning =p
Since our dinner was simple and it was still quite early, we decided to check out their local store; oleh-oleh cause it was known to be cheap and had a large variety. We took a cab down again and this is when I realised my malay is actually pretty good =p compared to my bf who got into the cab confidently and said he was sure he could convey our destination successfully =p Ok shant make fun of him anymore. We made it to oleh-oleh krishna where I bought a dress and some foodstuff to bring home =]
The trip back to hotel was....due to lost cab driver =S But I guess it wasnt too bad cause he drove through the expensive Seminyak streets where we got to see the pretty hotels, nice restaurants and atas boutiques.
We went to bed immediately after a long bath once again as we had another full day ahead.
Day 4 - 15th May
Today as a day full of activities! Ok starting off with a camwhore picture because my swollen eye and lips are gone!! whooohooo *vain*
And check out my multiple playboy earrings hehe (if you can make them out)
So our first mission of the day was to find the place for paragliding and boy did we have an adventure hahaha it was hilarious. We kept laughing over how Edi's car is dying, how this was essentially a Safari adventure where all we can see are cows...and some chicken and human haha. Pictures from the lost vehicle:
So cute right? They waved to the car haha. Then we reached the final destination where all we saw was a haunted house haha; empty house anyway not sure if haunted. Edi actually went down to check it out and found no one so he called the paragliding guy up and it seemed you had to make an appointment for it so they were still away and we had to come back later at 3pm. All was fine as we decided to do our water sports first then.
Water sports...1 word; extortion. Anyway the guys took photos of us when we were doing our 2 water sports; flying fish and the donut.
The flying fish only went up like twice within the short span of what felt like 5minutes.
Donut on the otherhand wasnt as fun as the one SujuM did in Taiwan =[ They could actually fall off their donut haha we were super secured in the hole within the donut so....but definitely a bit more fun than the flying fish
Then we were driven over to another place for our sea-walking adventure. No pictures cause bf insists he looks damn unglam with the bowl on his head but here's a picture for you to get an idea of what it is:
Funny right? Kiakia you should try this! Ok for people who cant swim and yet can get to go underwater. Its just a bowl over your head and you walk normal ;-) It was however too big for me so the extremely heavy helmet was pressing down on my arms....off my shoulders oh well haha
When we came back it was already 2+ so we changed and decided to eat roadside food for a change!!
Such a huge beefball + chicken balls + wanton + taupok + vegetables for like what 1~2sgd!! Crazy right?I couldnt even finish my food I had to donate to bf.
And we were off to paragliding! Oh yes and I cant help but camwhore; note I did not touch up any make-up at all...wonders of BB cream! Omo kamsa Teukkie-hyung for the recommendation ;-)
[copyright, dear jealous bitches please do not copy my pretty pictures and post them on your blog to pass off as your own thank you - we all know who im referring to]
And yes my hair becomes curly so pretty right why not natural =[ and it survives only for like what 20mins max I think haha. Anyway we finally arrived and the path was soooo horrible. Paragliding guys rode a motorbike so they could get all the way in, we had to drop and walk when we were near destination haha. Edi needs to invest in a jeep if he wants to take more people up there. Enough said. I was damn nervous!!! So bf went first and then me.
When it was my turn, I was afraid only for like 5secs as we ran off the cliff and then I was fine...hehe...enjoy pictures taken whilst I was "flying in the air"
Beautiful much?
The next destination was the monkey temple. Wasnt too huge on seeing Eunhyuk's relatives but Edi insisted the scenery was beautiful and not to be missed so we basically ran one round taking pictures haha
Next stop-and-go stop wad Padang-Padang beach; renowned beautiful beach where Julia Roberts hot the movie Eat Pray Love. We were rushing to make it to Jimbaran before sunset so we could enjoy it at the beach haha.
So it was the race against time and I am glad to announce that we did make it to the restaurant before sunset where we were sitted along the beach facing the sea ;-) Beautiful.
We ordered dinner after that.
Fish was good with my favourite type of garlic light soy sauce especially since it was live fish. Prawns were the best (i think it was garlic and balinese sauce) Crab however tasted a bit bitter =S "Young" coconut juice was horrible so I had to order an extra bottle of coke. Soup and rice were complimentary.
We slacked for a bit after that taking more pictures before coming back to fruits (complimentary)
Total damage: 189SGD. Wtf right? Super overpriced =[
We went out with Edi waiting outside and was back in hotel via Seminyak city centre hehe Edi was recommending the place to us and we decided we would visit it tomorrow on our last night ;-) Had an early night once again because it was rafting at 8am (pickup) the next morning. (highlight of the trip for boyfriend)
Day 5 - 16th May
We woke up early to take breakfast. My appetite wasnt that good early in the morning but I knew I needed the energy for rafting so I ate a couple of pastries and a bowl of muesli with youghurt. The mini-van came on time and there was already another couple on board so we sat at the back and erm once again slept through the whole journey up the mountain to the starting point of the rafting. But not without taking pictures on the way hehe
Once we reached our destination we paid for our rafting and were asked to sit and rest for a while whilst the instructors got ready, there were 2 rafts of 4 altogether including ours with the couple.
Rafting was quite fun this was way more scenic than the one in Krabi and I seriously couldnt stop laughing the entire ride down because the guy kept shouting random commands like "lean back!" when all I saw was a cliff in front of us HAHAHA ok shant be mean haha. Photos at the pit stops along the way:
Yes we look so dodgy with the helmets and safety jacket on =S The highlight of the rafting event was the 4m drop towards the end of the journey....yes definitely an unforgettable one for me....I saw my ONE slipper fly out of my right feet as we took a plunge =[ SADNESS MAX. Yes I grumbled and snapped at everyone and anyone after that especially that scheming person who sold me the slippers she conveniently had for sale at the top of the mountain =S Rawr. Thank you boyfriend though for being super sweet and lending me his slippers while he went barefooted climbing up the stairs.
Lunch was provided buffet style but erm I wasnt too happy about it =S hehe yes Im picky haha this is all I ate:
And ehem I would like to show-off my BB cream and waterpoof eyeliner! hahaha (ignore the chui-ness)
The journey back to the hotel was painfully long =S My initial sleeping position was horribly wrong and I woke up with a very bad neckache. Woke up and laid down on bf's lap and the sleep was much better. Even after 2 long naps we still hadnt reached our hotel and I had to pee so we had to stop by a petrol kiosk.
We reached the hotel barely in time for our pick-up from the massage place. We reached at 330pm and I took a shower first followed by boyfriend. He was still in the toilet when the reception called us at 345pm to inform us that our driver was here so I told him we'd be there in 10mins. So off to massage we went! <3
Sorry I didnt take any pictures inside the room itself; meant for couples. It started off with a Balinese massage which lasted for close to an hour and then followed by exfoliation scrub which really felt quite icky especially since they applied the scrub and left us there for quite a while =S Then we were ushered to the shower area where we were given yoghurt to apply on our body. Finally it was a 20min relaxing flower bath where I kept playing with the flower petals hehehehe
Nice and relaxing ;-) Perfect way to end (almost) the trip.
After the massage we asked the driver to drop us at Seminyak square and asked him to recommend a local restaurant so he dropped us there =] Good choice! Food was yummy and reasonably priced. We ordered a Bali tea and Vanilla latte each, Nasi Goreng, Rendang with rice and chicken satay.
Dinner was....fulfilling. hahaha
After that we took a walk down the street and total damage incurred was a A&F suit costing 60SGD. Haha but I loved it!! So <3 Took a cab back when we were feeling a bit tired and went to bed that night after a long htht <3
Day 6 - 17th May
The last day basically only consisted of departure. I only half packed the night before so I woke up early to continue packing a bit more whilst boyfriend was erm waking up and cleaning up before leaving for hotel breakfast. Final day and they finally had strawberry pancakes! And apple juice! And strawberry juice! And rendang! *whines* And yes boyfriend refused me my A&W meal =[
Anyway last minute packing and our airport transfer was waiting for us already. Reached the airport early but I insisted on just checking-in anyway cause I'd feel more secured waiting inside. Good choice I guess since there were quite a lot of shops inside.
We had a final snack at the airport whilst waiting before departing and it was bye bye Bali and hello Singapore! And yes I did final shopping at Changi with the Hello Kitty perfume set and mascara hehe.
Had a great great Bali trip thanks to boyfriend <3
Phoebe Feehily signing off now ciao!
